Its been a very busy day for Eileidh today. She wasnt very amused at being woken up at 7.30am as she was to be in Day Case for 8am! She was fasted from 3am, other than giving her Potassium Iodate with some water at 7am through her NG tube. Eileidh went down for her MRI scan at 10.15am. While she was under anaesthetic, she had a bone marrow aspirate done, was given the isotope dye for tomorrows MIBG scan through her canula & also had her canula replaced with a larger one on the opposite hand. She was shattered after having such an early start (for her anyway) so when she returned from her scan just after 12pm, she slept right through til 2.45pm! Perfect timing because she then had her Ultrasound scan at 3.10pm! Eileidh, of course, had to help with her scan so she was given her own probe to use :) the sonographer was pleased with what she saw, saying she had found nothing that would cause her concern :) :) Its unlikely we will have her various scan results until we are either in or come back from Glasgow. Once her scan was finished we had to wait around for meds from the pharmacy & also for a time for her MIBG scan tomorrow, which is 9am. We finally got away from the hospital & up to Grandas house for supper. Really wish Granda didnt have the Disney channels lol. Give me Frozen back please!!! ;) Another early start for Eileidh as she needs to be in Day Case again for 8am as she needs another anaesthetic for her MIBG scan. Hopefully that will be the last scan for now & that we can go home once she has fully recovered from the anaesthetic. Its been a totally different experience not being on Medical but she has finally settled really well, although having a few of the staff from Medical down on the ward helped a lot ;) Finally, we would like to say a huge congratulations to Dr King, one of Eileidhs consultants, for winning Doctor Of The Year 2014 :) :) :)
