Its been a very up and down adventure so far with recording my 5th solo album, but, I am happy to report that I am currently in an up phase and can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel! A big part of the positive surge has been reconnecting with Dave Atkins for the first time - apart from a brief interlude in a covers band - since recording my first album Big Sky some 20 years ago. His playing has such a unique quality and all the irrepressible fire from back in the day is still very present! Here is a snap shot of the gear Im using for tracking guitars....just about everything I own! Big thanks to Joe at JLM Audio and Tom Combes for the pre amps and sweet mics, they certainly go along way to help capture a very real and organic sound.
