Its been a while since I have had the chance to update on Rose. - TopicsExpress

Its been a while since I have had the chance to update on Rose. She has been home now for nearly three months since leaving Hale Makua. Since that time she has been having physiotherapy twice a week and has had three visits to the surgeon and four to her GP. Progress is slow but sure. Rose still has to use the walker for short distances and the wheelchair for longer distances. She can now bear to be sitting for up to three hours before a distinct increase in pain and can now stand unaided for five to ten minutes. Rose can walk with the walker to the end of the driveway and back and can now water the plants on the lanai. The bones are knitting together nicely, but the process is uncomfortable, however she remains very cheerful. Thanks to all who have telephoned her, it breaks the monotony and keeps her in touch. Thanks too to those who have given their time to help, namely Jerry Eiting, Lina Aiko Krueger, Daniel Vicars, Nadine Newlight, Leslie Granite, Loren Holmberg, Paul Genereaux, Tom Althouse, John Ziegler, Alexis Ann Ziegler and Suzanna Godwin. Special thanks to Caro Walker for baking Rose banana bread, it is soooooo good, and to Hamish Douglas Burgess who entertained Rose and I with his latest trip to Celtic Europe and a private showing of his artwork (glad you gave the Dragon a good home George Cameron Keys). Rose returns to the surgeon at the end of July and we hope that she will have improved enough to swap the walker for a walking cane.
