Its been a while since we did an update on Sammy; her symptoms - TopicsExpress

Its been a while since we did an update on Sammy; her symptoms rising up again this morning reminded me of how fragile she was just a few short months ago. For those we havent told yet; Sammy was officially diagnosed with Addisons Disease. The symptoms she was and still occasionally experiences are completely congruent with this disease; the loss of appetite, the anorexia, dehydration. She needs medication every day to keep her appetite at a normal level, and a hormone injection once a month to keep her stable. If we are consistent with this schedule, she should live a normal life! Even still, this morning I could tell she felt yucky and after a call to the vet, sure enough, she is due for her shot this week. Its like clockwork. Finally, its an answer to her declining behavior, that was frankly hard to watch. Thank goodness I have an AMAZING man by my side to help Sammy stay happy and healthy. If anyone else has a dog with Addisons Disease, please feel free to pass along any advice you might have to share!
