Its been a while since we have updated on Max. There really hasnt been much change aside from HE IS EATING ON HIS OWN!! You see, his body pretty much stopped eating...he wasnt ever hungry and the thought of eating repulsed him...so he was being fed through an IV. We tried and tried to get him to eat but he couldnt. Finally the urge came back and the nutrients via IV were taken away this week. Yay!! His infection in the left leg is still present and now we all believe its actually his body rejecting the pins and plates that they placed just a few days after the accident. Because he has been in the hospital for almost 8 weeks (tomorrow will be 8 weeks) its almost time for those pins and plates to come out SO we are thinking that they will just keep him in until the surgery to remove them to avoid this lingering infection. We are HOPING this surgery takes place next week....finger crossed! School starts for Max in less than a month. He will most likely start school virtually somewhere then once he can walk on crutches (he can not put weight on his legs just yet) he will be able to go back to school. Poor kid! Has spent all summer long in the hospital. BUT hes alive! And we are so thankful!! Your visits, calls, cards and gift cards for iTunes and such have been so generous and we thank you all! We can see the light at the end of this tunnel and it is glorious!
