Its been a year now. A very nice, hectic year. Syncspace is at the verge of another important milestone. All of us are super excited and we will make an announcement soon. We at Syncspace are very sure that our journey would now never ever stop. TAD as a platform for architectural practice would now soon be available Systems are already in place for the work to spread -- and I am hoping that all of my friends here and elsewhere would take the message far and wide. For far too long, the practice architecture was dominated by a very amorphous set of tools. Some of our techniques (e.g. orthographic drawings) date as far back as from the Renaissance. If someone were to resurrect those Renaissance architects and showed them drawings made and used in architecture today, they surely would know how to read them! We at Syncspace are very confident of giving a fresh look at architecture -- our modeling techniques are actually a lot more used than drawings; if one were to look at ALL forms of architecture, and not just from the professional 1% part of architectural practice. If we were to go to the villages, for example, nobody makes drawings. The modeling technique inside TAD uses those techniques of placing volumes, shifting them around and editing them simply All this is due to incorrect interpretation of what we think are our givens. For example: Drawings? nah! they cannot be replaced! Or when I say that you really can progress fast and make a valuable company... even though a year back, it looked very static. Hmmm.. that is just too ideal, no? and so on Some of them think that they hold a very simple view of life and why should we get into its intricacies? I think they really mean simplistic and not simple. The word simplistic is often misunderstood. Something that is simple can be quite elegant and sophisticated too. It can reflect reality. But the word simplistic involves stripping out essential aspects of a complex situation and reducing it, sometimes, to a farce which leaves the explanation often quite unusable The progress of our journey over last one year has been quite unbelievable. If one were to discuss all this a year back on this day, I am sure it would have extracted a wry smile of disbelief I have spoken often on the incorrect intuitions that we sometimes carry with us. For example; how do we climb? If I were to say to climb up along a very difficult path -- why dont we use lessons from an expert who climbs coconut trees? Instead, I know some people who insist FIRST that their internal analogy is comforting to them and only then would they start thinking of using that analogy to explain life. It always bewilders me when people insist that concepts be first SIMPLE. I think, once again they want things to be simplistic and not really simple. True simplicity requires one NOT to put ones own inner comfort about the analogy as top priority. In order to climb a coconut tree, you need to tie your feet together. Prima-facie, if I were to tell the aforesaid people that hey, tie your feet together if you want to progress (and not mention coconut-tree climbing) I am sure I would get very confused, and sometimes irritated looks But that is exactly how you can effectively climb something almost vertical. In many situations, you need to tie your feet together -- It is true of companies or of families. The husband and wife has to tie themselves together and be inter-dependent for that family to climb up Here it is m.youtube/watch?v=V0jLMjggCgk
