Its been about 12hrs since I washed out of Kokoro. The day started well with about 4hrs of running up and down the beach, being sprayed with hoses, surf torture (which strangely I find quite comforting as all youre doing is lying there letting waves wash over you), and plenty of partner carries in the sand. Then we did the PST. Minimum of 50 push ups, sit ups, squats and 10 pull ups. (I hit 61, 52, 62, 11). Then a mile run in under 9.30. Thats only 6min/ km pace and normal my warm up is faster. But not after all that. Came in at 9.39. There was a lot of beatings after that. Log PT which lasted maybe an hour and bit and culminated in about 30mins of walking with the log carried at chest height in the rack. Absolute arm destroyer. And back. And shoulders. And grip. Then we went for a really long run on the beach on both hard and soft sand. Maybe two hours. There was a lot of getting wet here too. Many rounds of sandy and wet. And then we did Murph at about 2am. Normally a 75min Murph isnt so hard. But after 14hrs I ended up about 2.5min outside the cut off. A bit frustrating to watch people Id been doing better than all day beat me on a Murph because they were allowed kip the pull ups. Truthfully if I knew how to do them I would have. The bottom line is I wasnt strong enough. My legs have always been a weakness and after long runs in the sand, partner carries, and the 300 squats in Murph I just didnt have enough in the tank. But even if Id passed Murph I would have had a hard time convincing myself to go and do another three hours of log PT. I passed them on the way to my hotel about 3km down the road still carrying their logs. The worst part of that is afterwards theyd still have to get back. Now I need to rest and figure out the next move.
