Its been about 2 months of trying my Kuda Flex saddle and wanted to share my trial in this saddle. After trying 4 saddles for my Paso mare prior in the last year, I was skeptical about trying another. She is very mutton withered, chunky monkey round barrel in a 14.1 hd package. Basically a saddle fitting nightmare unless you go treeless. I tried several treeless and found it impossible to mount from ground on this rolly polly mare. So some recommended I try the Kuda. I found the saddle to be extremely well made with very nice craftsmanship. I ride a LOT of trails here in Oregon from tame to wild which is a good test on any saddle. The sweat patterns have always been even and the saddle is very comfortable for my horse and my body. I could only fault the saddle being on the heavy side weight wise but I was used to riding in very lightweight 10 lbs endurance saddles so a 24# saddle seems heavy to me but not if that is what you are used to. The saddle cost $1600 but looks like it will stand up to hard riding for many years to come. The 2 things I noticed that made me realize my mare LOVES this saddle (my mare is very picky) is 1) she moves better downhill, which I feel is a true test for saddle fit; and 2) she has more energy at the end of a ride than the ever before. Losing energy halfway through a normal ride can be a result of a saddle that isnt comfortable for the horse if the horse is fit. My mare is actually quite refreshed and ready for more after a 5-15+ mile ride. So that is my take on this saddle. I would gladly buy another Kuda saddle.
