Its been all praise for Mr. Ishaq Dar and the PML-N government for the surprising rebound of the Pakistani Rupee against the Dollar, but we all know they are no miracle makers. Its pure and simple whats going on: our Foreign policy has been put on sale again, and this time the highest bidder are the Saudis. The combined inflow of Dollars from the newly formed Pakistan Development Fund (Arab/Gulf States), Coalition Support Fund (Nato/US), Asian Development Bank, International Monetary Fund, and China (..and the list pretty much goes on) is helping the Rupees revaluation, but at the expense of us being the worlds errand boys. Saudi Arabia has paid us $750m - of a promised $3bn - at the guarantee of PM Nawaz Sharif. The guarantee, in this case, happens to be our governments and armys assurance to the Saudis of all out support in their proxy war against Syria, and hence, the sudden change in our stance on the Syrian Civil War. Much similar to the days of General Zia-ul-Haq, when our Army was turned into a bunch of mercenaries for hire. But, for the homeland thats not even the worst part any of us should be worried about. Thanks to Arab Salafi/Wahabi patronage for extremist elements like the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi/Sipah-i-Sahaba, plus virtual control over our Foreign policy and General Raheel Sharifs approval over their interference into internal matters, the level of violence against Christian, Hindu and Ahmadi minorities, and sectarianism could easily spike out of control. And here we worry about American Drones infringing upon our sovereignty. WHAT sovereignty?
