Its been almost a year since I said goodbye to my zumba classes at LA Fitness. With my closest of zumbaettes surrounding me we ended an era of fun and fabulousness with over 100 ppl yelling oh yeah! And shedding tears over our final bachata song. Its been four days since I came back to la to check out their new facility and rack up a good pump and with the onslaught of love from my former students, it has been an invigorating few days. With joy still in their eyes and nearly jumping on me with excitement, they recapped the memories we shared in the hour spent together, noting that we werent only zumba fanatics but a fit family that couldnt be forgotten. Tina we havent been to a zumba class since you left! You were the best! T. Where do we sign a petition to have u back? !! Te quiero mamita. No one has your energy! No podemos bailar sin ti!! Walking back to the bench tonight, smiling and feeling like a mini celebrity I couldnt help but get the angst to teach again. It is truly amazing to do something that you love and motivate others in the process. We created an addicting environment together, carrying each other through high intensity songs and emotional moments. With thousands of calories burnt but millions more laughs had, my zumbaettes are and will always be my family.
