Its been an emotional day... Cried at the first moment of silence when the first plane hit the first tower. Cried when Tucker cried as the nurses were bending his arm/elbow to redo his splint. He was trying so hard to be strong, just quietly repeating Ow. Ow. Ow. Then when they bent it farther he wasnt breathing well and his face got red and he teared up and said, Jeez, that hurts! Cried some more. Cried driving by the intersection in Defiance where my friends dad stood for many years on 9/11 wearing an Americana shirt, waving the American flag all day long. He isnt with us anymore, so his family and friends carried on, doing so in his memory. Cried hearing sound bytes from this day 13 years ago and hearing Carter explain what he learned about this day at school. Cried as I locked our doors after reading 2 inmates escaped from a prison in Lima, thinking that what if horrible things happen- ever in this life- and I cant protect my children. Its been a heavy heart kind of day. Philippians 4: 6-7
