Its been an expensive Thanksgiving for CARF. Momma Flamenco is very sick and needed to be hospitalized at the ER vet. She has severe URI signs, is not eating, and her fever was up to 105.6 at its highest point. She was also found to have a heart murmur and is FIV positive. Because our regular vet is closed for the holiday, we had no choice but to take her to the ER so she could get the intensive care she needs. Her kittens are currently in foster care and attending Thanksgiving dinner in the suburbs. We had to pay a deposit of $1900 which is on the low end of the estimate for treatment at the ER. Well get 20% off the bill as a rescue, but it will still be very expensive. If anyone would like to donate to help us offset this very high cost, we would really appreciate it.
