Its been another busy week here at WHRC with lots of calls coming in and plenty of rescues. Weve been kept most busy with the constant arrival of Tawny Owls. Below are five of the seven owls we received this week. Most have been victims of traffic accidents but a couple have arrived very underweight and dehydrated - most likely youngsters. We were called out yesterday to rescue an owl in Northallerton that had been spotted in the car park of Beyond Digital - the third call this week from the same industrial estate. We also went out to catch a young seagull at Olive House and a beautiful Long-eared bat from the BT building. We are still having squirrels arrive from all over the North. Some as far as Huddersfield. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely people who run Meltham Wildlife Rescue after they brought us up a couple of casualties. Fox problems are not over either, as we have been out several times over the past week setting traps for ill and injured foxes. All in all it has been a very busy week. We have now admitted well over a thousand casualties since January and are still in need of your support. If you do want to help out, please check out our website for ideas. thewildlfiehaven.org
