Its been nearly seven months since Super Typhoon Haiyan devastated the southern half of the Philippines, claiming the lives of over 6,000 people with over a thousand missing, nearly $3 billion in damages, and millions of livelihoods changed irrevocably. The typhoon has also deeply impacted our local Filipino American community, some of whom have relatives and friends still suffering from the aftermath. While the international community has responded with immediate assistance in the wake of this tragedy, recovery remains a long road ahead, as most aid discontinues after the first few months. APCF remains committed to long-term recovery in the Philippines, and invite you to support an upcoming benefit concert this Saturday, June 8 at the Greek Theater to fund rebuilding efforts. The star-studded event features members of The Black Eyed Peas (Apl.de.ap, will.i.am and Taboo), Jabbawockeez, Chad Hugo (via Yardnoise), and more! Tickets range from $20 to $60, and can be purchased through the Greek Theater website here (see flier below for more information). The benefit is produced by the Apl.de.ap Foundation International, which is housed at APCF. We hope to see you there for a night of building hope for the Philippines!
