Its been one week... it was about this time last week that I got back from Baltimore. Seems almost more surreal today. Late this afternoon, Jonny and Taysia and I walked up to visit the tree and memorial site and after awhile, along came Chasen walking up into the field with little Chay. What a treat. This week has been harder than last week, but I probably needed the down time to really let this sink in and really begin to feel and grasp the pain and reality of it all. I was talking to a doctors office for Jon and mispoke and gave Jeffs birthdate and it caused me to weep. Its odd little things that bring me to my knees. But, I had a few very good conversations with his past friends on facebook and am so thankful that each day I receive emails, cards, texts, facebook posts, calls and visits and all of it is what holds me together. I love hearing about him. Someone asked if Im ok hearing stories about him and honestly, its just about the only thing I want to think about or hear about right now. And one of the sweetest offers came today from a friend who did not know him - she said, let me know when youd like to have lunch, Id love to hear about your son. At any rate, its been one week... and just wishing I had a time machine.
