Its been quite a long time since I saw Halloween H2O last, and damn is it ever a satisfying sequel. I love that the Halloween theme doesnt start until Laurie decides to remain at the school and take Michael on, grabbing the fire ax and she herself begins stalking the grounds, only blaring out again the second she beheads him later. Id forgotten all the references and in-jokes too. The scene where Laurie is discussing Frankenstein with the class and how it mirrors the scene in the original when Laurie first saw the car Michael was driving. Jamie Lees mother Janet Leigh repeating the line said by Charles Cypher in the original, that everyones entitled to one good scare before driving off in the car her character drove in the original Psycho. :) Its still a slight movie unfortunately, and needs a bit more meat on its bones. Its short running time feels even shorter than it is. Still, its fun and I had the same huge grin on my face the whole time like I did when I first saw it in the theater (though Ive seen it a handful of times since then, its been probably six or seven years since I watched it last). And the ending is always satisfying. Its frustrating though, how Michaels reappearence is explained in Resurrection. Mainly because it takes away every little bit that matters in H2O, and what really matters is what drives the whole of the film, so it deflates the film in its entirety. But thats okay. After all, we dont acknowledge the existence of that film do we? No, we dont.
