Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎵 Good morning everyone! Well its Christmas Eve and the hustle and bustle is going to be going strong. So heres my offering (with the help of my friend Pastor Hugh Chalk) for your day...call it a Christmas Eve present! TAKE 10 @ CHRISTMAS it would be great if during your day today you could Take 10 minutes to remind yourself, why were doing all this, who He is and who you are. This 10 minutes could very well be the BEST 10 minutes of your day! Id like you to read Pastor Hughs wee post here, and follow my instructions after. If you dont catch this till later, tonight is a good time or even during Christmas Day. Over to you Pastor.... Morning friends, of the saddest words on earth are “We don’t have room for you.” Jesus knew the sound of those words. He was still in Mary’s womb when the innkeeper said,“We don’t have room for you.” And when He hung on the cross, wasn’t the message one of utter rejection? “We don’t have room for you in this world.” Today Jesus is given the same treatment. He goes from heart to heart, asking if He might enter. Every so often, He’s welcomed. Someone throws open the door of his or her heart and invites Him to stay. And to that person Jesus gives this great promise, “In my Father’s house are many rooms” (Jn. 14:2). We make room for Him in our hearts, and Jesus makes room for us in His house! Pastor Hugh Im back. What a great reflection... So, you still have at least 5 mins so lets make the most of it! Heres what I want you to do: Take a deep breath. Think about Pastor Hughs thought. And ask this question... Am I making room in my heart this Christmas for you Jesus? Reflect on where your relationship is with Him. What He has done for you recently? How has He helped, healed or met with you in the past? Thank God for His Kindness, Forgiveness, Patience, Love and the way He may have already fulfilled desires or worked throughout your life. Know that you are the most precious thing in all of Gods universe. Jesus came to be a light in YOUR world. If you have been going through challenges and struggles in recent times... Release any burdens or hurts that may have come to your life - Jesus came to this world so you could be free to live and love! As you do this this you are literally making room for Jesus in your heart and life. Allow the Peace and Love of God to flood your soul. Receiving is like breathing in...Continue to thank God as He lifts your spirit...that is like breathing out. Be refreshed. Prayer is simple - just like breathing. Speak out your heart to God, your heart desires, or present needs. Tell Him what is important to you at the moment. Wait for a sense of Gods response, assurance, love or encouragement. Thoughts, ideas, pictures or simple impressions may gently dawn on you. Thank God the Father for sending Jesus for you. Be encouraged! He is Immanuel: God with you today! Take the sense and awareness of God being with you away from that time. Youve just Taken 10 with Jesus! Now go out into your world, with the Peace and Joy of Christmas! Have a great day, share it with the people in your life. Why not get to a watch night service tonight and start Christmas day the same way! God bless Pastor Hugh & Pastor Ken
