It might be a great motto for speakers too. Preparation is both a vital stepping stone for success and is multi-faceted in approach. S.A.Y. is an acronym that might help you remember the basics. “S” stands for subject. You should know both the facts and the feelings pertaining to your subject. That means you know well the current, relevant and important facts that your audience will want to know. You also know how those facts might be received or rejected by that audience and you’re able to make adjustments either before or during your presentation to elicit the best response possible. “A” stands for audience. There are many ways you can research and begin to understand your audience in a personal way that will help you with your preparation and endear you to your listeners. When they know that you know, like and respect them their ears and hearts open wide to your voice.
