Its called uploading = = = = = It might be possible to recreate a mind from an existing carbon based brain into a new silicone based mind. This would be done by classifying each synaptic connection in the subjects existing carbon based brain into what type of thought that synaptic connection coded for and then creating a silicone based thing (similar in utility to a synapse) to represent that thought and to be able to transfer that thought to the theatre of consiciousness (on call) of the silicone device. We do things similar but a lot easier at present ====== Since we were able to learn how to decode a persons DNA and we can work with human-designed DNA to get cells to build the type of protein needed instead of the mutated one that got built (to cure diseases and soon to build perfect DNA which is how we will reverse aging), we should be able to code and decode synaptic connections to know what thoughts each one represents. =========== This type of decoding seems to me to be about 47.3 billion times harder than decoding DNA. So as computers get more powerful we might be able to do that in 10 to 20 years. Then the harder part of uploading will be to build a consciousness from silicone that can bring the specific needed thought into its theatre of consciousness when needed for cogent thinking. (if silicone even has the properties to build something conscious). So we dont know yet if we can build a machine type device that an existing person can transfer his/her mind into. However, we do know that a mind can exist in the carbon based brain because thats what they do now. THEREFORE, I THINK IT IS PRUDENT TO OPT FOR CRYONICS SUSPENSION AT LEGAL DEATH (Quickly cryopreserved while you are still a bunch of living cells in a body that has been declared legally dead), and wait it out in liquid nitrogen for technology, science and medicine to catch up, revive you, fix what made you legally dead, reverse aging in your revived body and reverse-grow you into a beautiful, youthful-engineered, healthy body and then lock that condition in for as long as you care to live.
