Its christmas season once again. What a better christmas we had experienced are the christmasses of our youth . Every year the christmas of yesterday are the one keep coming back and thoughtof it never failed to excite me , even now after 71 years of celebrating them. Hope my other siblings shared the same sentiment. Our late kuya Menes will cut a carefully selected thick branches of guava tree for our christmas tree. Very simple, not a centavo spent. He painted it white with left over paints. And we girls wrapped previously saved empty boxes if posporong guitara for pretended gifts. When done we all stepped back and view it as it the most beautiful tree ever. The fiesta of sto.nino is also added thrill a week after christmas. The pounding of musikos drum passing by our street beats the same of our hearts excitement. Colorful banderitas lined our streets flapping along with the chilly air if this joyous morning welcoming the new year. Litson, haleya and leche flan among other things are ready at the table. But why its absent now ? Is it because the people you used to spend christmas and new year with are all gone now.also not counting my being diabetic now,ha ha. It will never be the same christmas and new year of yesteryears. Am thankful my family tradition, tho misssing a lot in numbers still get together for the holidays. Yes , christmas is just around the corner. For us who have lost a loved one, christmas wont be the same. It was Tatay and Nanay who brought us together as a family on special occasion like this. Needless to say their presence will be terribly missed again. But let us not forget that Christ is the reason for the christmas season. We are confident thatwe will meet again with iur loved ones who have. Gone ahead of us. So come all Kapamilya in looban this christmas!
