Its difficult for me to find understanding partners here in the Philippines. Yes. Partners. I am polyamorous, not polygamous. Polyamory means loving many, and letting the people you love love as many people as they can or want to with their consent and knowledge about your relationship/s, AND with your consent and knowledge about your partner/s relationship/s. It means accepting the fact that humans can fall in love with more than one person. Does that count as cheating? If both parties have full knowledge about what the other party is doing, and give their consent, then its not cheating at all. When I fall in love, its not limited to one person. I enjoy getting emotionally involved and invested in other people. Something about making people happy makes me glad to be alive. I know what youre thinking Ang selfish mo., Mali yang ginagawa mo., Stick to one dapat! Really? Is it right to limit your love and affection to one person? Why? Is it because youre afraid that your partner will leave you for someone else? Are you afraid of being lonely? Polyamory isnt like that. Polyamory isnt about control. Its about freedom of emotion. Free love. Its about trust, communication, happiness, and honesty. Polyamory isnt for the jealous people because you need to share the love, not keep it for yourself. Ive been branded Manloloko in my time or outright denied a chance at a relationship unless I agree to be loyal only to one. Ive been nothing but honest with the women Ive tried to court and yet they lash out with hurtful words simply because I do not subscribe to their cultural and romantic standards. Alright, that aside, people then start to ask things like but what about STDs? Yes, that can be a problem as well, which is why honesty is a must. Since being Polyamorous means that you need to be honest, you must also be accepting. If your partner gets an STD, do not condemn him/her. Instead, help them recover or help them live with it. Fear can be removed with enough honesty and trust. Call me what you will. Love deserves to be free. Free Love (FEU Manila - Tech 201*)
