Its disturbing to find myself on the opposite side of an issue from Oswalt, Scharpling, and On the Media... but cmon! The Pizza Underground is a cynical exercise to capitalize on celebrity-cred that (along with their freaking PUBLICIST) is trying desperately to convince us that it is not. It is a half-baked idea that never would have left the apartment were it not for the child star involved. There is no discernible energy or effort from the band members, and they charge people money and then make them wait for an under-rehearsed joke that consists mainly of dropping pizza references and product placements into beloved songs. They want to have it both ways and -like a camp of pampered toddlers- get indignant when they dont because Brooklyn! Meanwhile a friend of mine who wrote a hilarious article about them after hitting a brick wall of entitlement is being thrown under the bus. Its kind of ridiculous. Rant over.
