Its easy to not get fired up about politics when you dont pay attention to what politicians are doing. Maybe thats is the goal, do so much bad that people have to turn a blind eye in order to keep their stomachs. This week marked the 20th anniversary of VAWA (violence against women act) a massive effort to stop domestic abuse against women. I have an incredible mom, a sister who is a new mother. I have 2 beautiful nieces, one who had her first boyfriend this last year. Do I care about stopping violence against women? Do I care about equal pay for equal work? Damn right I do! So when I hear that one of my own state senators has voted against things like VAWA and other acts that protect womens right, how does that make me feel? As mad as hell and Im not going to take it anymore! Im pissed, I deserve to be pissed, and so do you. And now we need leaders who get us fired up, who get us out of our seats and screaming out the windows. This isnt about republicans vs democrats, this is about doing the right thing for human beings.
