Its election day in Ventura tomorrow. Ventura citizens, you get to vote for 4 city council members. If you have ever complained about anything at all in the city, tomorrow is your chance to stand up and be counted. This is a local election, better known as an election that actually makes a substantial difference in your day to day life. Ive been out of town for a while, so Im having to do some last minute cramming. Heres a couple of good resources, I think, but please add your own below: The party endorsements for each candidate, as Brian Dennert from the Ventura County Star says, arent the be-all-end-all, but a good general guide to begin with. If you know you are a Republican or Democrat, and like to toe that party line, youll want to start here: blogs.venturacountystar/dennert/archives/2013/09/party-endorseme.html The VCReporter ran some email Q&As with each candidate and, importantly, printed them unedited. The questions are fine, but its those glorious inexplicable answers or, worse, copy/pasted talked points that really seal the deal for me. Someones ability to communicate clearly says alot* about them. Yes, thats an intentional typo. Grammar nerd jokes. So good. The Reporters website doesnt *ahem*...well, its hard to find the interviews with the candidates. So here they are.
