Its election day today and Im getting ready to go cast a ballot. I think for me the most significant item on the ballot is proposal number one, to change the NYS constitution to allow gambling. My answer is a resounding No. It looks to me like our over sized and out of control government which has been squeazing/taxing the life out of our economy is looking for another indirect means to fund itself. My message to our state government, If you want to stem the tide of people and businesses leaving NYS, cut taxes and get smaller! The move to allow casinos in is the complete wrong answer and shows that they still dont get it. The goal should not be to increase revenue to our state government. The goal should be to enable businesses to make a profit and to make it easy for people to start businesses. Allowing casinos in will only increase indebtedness and create gambling addicts.
