Its fair to say that 2014 has been a good year for OAD. The monthly OAD Club Night has had stability all year at Apres in Birmingham, and it celebrated its 5th anniversary in May, in style, with a great performance from Midge Ure. Attendances are still creeping up (which amazes me after being in existence so long!) and I truly believe one of the reasons for that is the amazing atmosphere created by you wonderful Darklings who always come along with a great attitude ... you couldnt wish for a friendlier, more welcoming crowd! The weekly OAD Radio Show has had stability as well at Switch (with its broadcasting license being renewed and new funding in place) The show itself has also gone from strength to strength, with interviews with Steve Norman and Reeves Gabrels helping to increase its profile, and listening figures, accordingly. So what of OAD in 2015? Theres nothing radical planned at this stage, although with both the club night and the radio show I do intend to make some minor changes, as I think these are essential to help retain an element of freshness about them. That said, do expect some more interviews for the radio show, with people I think you will find of interest. Also, there should be another couple of club night specials during the year (there would have been one in the second half of 2014, but my broken arm put the brakes on that!) and I am currently at the starting point of, hopefully successful, negotiations for the first one. Which just leaves me to say that Sara, Sam and I wish all of you a great New Years Eve, and a happy, healthy and successful 2015. Heres to it! :) x
