Its fantastic that various conservation organisations share a common goal. But wouldnt it be nice if they could all work together and acknowledge each others work. When i get approached by Greenpeace outside my local post office, i tell them i am with Sea Shepherd. Unlike Greenpeace, Sea Shepherd volunteers are not paid to raise funds outside local shops. Sea Shepherd volunteers run on passion alone. Sea shepherd allows its passionate supporters to come to them. no in your face marketing while you try and go about your daily shopping etc. I find it a tad strange that Greenpeace would celebrate shutting down whaling in the southern ocean, with no mention of Sea Shepherd in their following letter. I am assuming this letter from Greenpeace was sent to its members with the primary goal of acquiring more money from the public. I cant think of any other reason why Greenpeace would not acknowledge Sea Shepherd in its letter claiming victory for the whales. Greenpeace havent sent a ship down to the southern ocean whale sanctuary since 2008! Wtf!!!! Opportunism at its worst.
