Its frustrating that some news outlets are reduced to putting up click baits as headlines. Find out what (politician) has to say about (issue) or Why (prominent figure) wants issue to change are headlines fit for viral crap that people waste time on, but news? Then I read a 150-word article that could be reduced to a single statement if I do click on the link. I may not understand the nature of online publications and how much they value page views. What I do think is that reducing actual news to viral news fails to give the public comprehensive information about issues. Reading through comments sections of some articles, I feel like people are already lazy enough to read as they are, and writing lazy articles with catchy headlines is not helping people become interested in reading.
