Its funny and ironic that its called Facebook, as people express themselves very differently when not face to face. I appreciate it for what it helps us achieve in expression, creativity, community, event promotion, world and political awareness and organization, friend and family connection and business/networking, so much more the list is endless; while seeing the flip side to the coin, the disconnect when any facet of our mind can chime in and say things we would probably never say in real life interactions, especially with someone we barely know. Judgements are easily passed when swiping through a list of faces next to random thoughts and stories. Sometimes people choose to give those judgements energy by carelessly expressing them in the split second of reaction. I will be the first to admit to letting my ego get the slip on me from time to time. Im not here to put myself above or below anyone else. Im simply calling light to the shadow, as it has chosen to bare its beautifully hideous head. And I know better than to think it will be the last time. Life is Yin and Yang. Facebook is powerful... And strange. So strange. Beautiful what its done for us. What it is and can be for us. Weve been distant lately. I wonder what the evolution of social media will be from here.
