Its funny how some writers and readers have issues with labelling a writer that published a soft copy of his book online for free an author, and acknowledging him as having published. Even those Literature Award bodies do the same. But they dont have issues calling the one that asks them to pay for the same service - a published author. I understand when you ask people to pay when it comes in hard copy though. Like I have always said - writing, teaching, being a lawyer, a philosopher and a doctor - are professions that shouldnt involve materialism. And thats what makes them Noble. That was the Status Quo Ante! If we have to make people pay for these things, it loses its worth, essence and aim. Not that I have issues with the status quo, what I have issues with is how people have problems with those trying to revive the status quo ante. What right do we have to fault peoples uncivilised and uneducated circumstance when they have to buy it, especially when they are the poorest on earth? And until we revive the concept of Art for Arts sake, we will remain at these crossroads. *let me stop here, lest I go on and on* P.S: I dont have issues with any path, I just want the online free publishers to be accorded the respect of being a published author.
