Its funny how we think of ourselves as a civilized, sophisticated society... but truly, I believe in essence, for a society to reach the standards of being civilized and sophisticated, it must evolve to such an extent where its only drive is that of scientific, spiritual, and global innovation. We are too warmongering, too driven by greed, too power hungry... all these cliche qualities are holding us back. We allow race to get in our way, and therefore disables us from utilizing a kind of global cooperation that could potentially lift us to a greater stage of humanity. It is to a point where I feel we may be too far gone to achieve such a thing, but of course I remain an unabashed optimist. Regardless, we are not the great society we give ourselves so much credit for. Were far from it... We are childlike. We are exploitative. We are cancerous. Old habits die hard, and at this rate, we may as well die before they do. Sad but true.
