Its funny... when I opened my first school I thought every other martial artist was the competition. Now, I am friends with most of the instructors around. Then I thought summers, or the economy, or soccer, or dance were my competition. Now, I use those things to enhance my business. Currently, I believe I am my own competition, and I work toward just being better than I was, both for myself and for my students, in my actions, my knowledge, and the environment and service I provide. Maybe this, too, will pass, but for now it seems to be working better than any of those other things :)
