Its funny when younger DJs hear my mixtapes, they think that I dont have skills, because there isnt a lot of scratching and mixing on them. They dont understand a few things. First of all, the mixtape market and consumer sales dont demand that there be a lot of djing involved. I wish people cared, but this generation just doesnt. And to be honest, most consumers prefer that there not be scratching/mixing elements involved on their mixtapes at all. Second, not only am I better than you on CDJs, or whatever other lapto setup you use, I excel on Technics 1200s. Something that you dont even know how to power on, and definitely dont know how to use. Believe this, my skills arent to be messed with; Ive been doing DJ battle routines in my bedroom, since I was 12 years old. I dont boast about my talent as a DJ, but I do ask that you do your research, and recognize the route Ive taken in my career. Ive DJd for free, Ive DJd for 15 hours straight, Ive DJd for 10 people in somebodys front yard, Ive DJd for 10,000 in an arena, Ive packed record crates, Ive packed amps and speakers, Ive packed turntables, Ive pulled trailers. Ive done it all. Ive more than paid my dues. So, when you stroll into your club, with your laptop bag, and plug up, all Im asking is that you respect an OG.
