Its happening right now. I speak of those things that most of us as Americans never dreamed or believed would happen in this country. School teachers, coaches and other people who work with our kids at government schools are getting suspended or fired for praying with their students! It has just happened in Arizona. It recently happened in North Carolina, and in several other states as well. Its here. Now. And, most of the harassment is coming from one anti-Christian, angry-at-God organization called the Freedom from religion foundation or FFRF. These atheist bullies are writing letters to schools, townships and any other public institution that dares to allow its people to express their Christian faith threatening them with lawsuits, and in some cases, actually filing them. Notice that I didnt say anything about FFRF objecting to other religions. Thats because they are not doing that. Just Christianity. These people KNOW the truth about God and reject Him and now want everyone who professes the name of Christ to simply shut up and go away. Here is an excerpt from a recent letter their attorney wrote to a school. “It is a violation of the Constitution for the Mooresville High School football coach to organize, lead, or participate in prayers or other religious proselytizing before, during, or after games and practices,” FFRF attorney Patrick Elliott wrote to District Attorney Kevin Donaldson. “It is well settled that public schools, and by extension public school officials, may not advance or promote religion.” My response to this God-hating group is this, It is a violation of the US Constitutions First Amendment to PROHIBIT this coach or any of these other people from exercising their Freedom OF Religion, and that includes praying with students! The Constitution does not guarantee Freedom FROM Religion, nor does it simply grant the freedom to worship, as Mr. Obama loves to call it. It grants our FREEDOM OF RELIGION....and that means, we have the freedom to PRACTICE our religion in public places. Proselytizing, as you call it, is permissible and a protected action under the US Constitutions First Amendment. You have the right under the Constitution to bully people into giving up those rights, as you are doing now; but we as Christians have the right to push back and to defend the rights we hold sacred in this country. Furthermore, the US Constitution was written to bar the forced stopping of the very things your hate group is trying to shut down; namely, the freedom to choose our religion and practice it publicly without fear of retribution from the government or groups like the FFRF. Folks, if this bully-pulpit group is not stopped, the FFRF will surely succeed in their efforts; but the main reason they are being so successful is because Christians simply cower down to their demands. This will turn around quickly if Christians get enough of it and stand up to them. As for me, I would rather be in prison or be executed than to be forced to shut my mouth about the ONE and ONLY God of the universe that saved me and is the Lord of my life! Its time for the church to declare that we will not be silenced!
