Its hard to not be despondent after the election defeats last Tuesday, but we have to move on. I am hopeful that at least something will get done by Congress, even though a lot of what they do will likely be vetoed by the President. That said , it is somewhat likely that at least something will be done on immigration reform. Something hopefully will be done on infrastructure. Tax reform is a bit trickier, because republicans don;t seem interested in eliminating loopholes and the President isnt likely to sign a reduction in corporate taxes without eliminating those loopholes - but Republicans have to get something done or they will be held accountable. If Republicans could actually raise the minimum wage, they could undercut Democrats as champions of the poor, but it is highly unlikely that Republicans will ever vote to raise the minimum wage.
