Its hard to put into words how hard it has been for all of us, - TopicsExpress

Its hard to put into words how hard it has been for all of us, especially at Ennis Womens Shed, to watch Paula leave. Paula & Nevie OBrien started the Womens Shed and from the word go, the enthusiasm, energy and sheer fun in attending was an energy buzz in itself. Paula was an amazing teacher. She encouraged everyone, had time for everyone and gave lots of us a great laugh showing us how to hammer a nail straight. We learned how to use drills, chop saws, and sanders with aplom. We turned bunk beds into benches, pallets into tables and old tyres into flower containers. We cut, screwed and assembled & painted benches & tables for Cahercalla Hospice Garden. We painted, decoupaged and upcycled old furniture for Clare Haven, dug (twice, its a long story) & sowed an allotment, learned to made aprons, bunting and Greeting Cards. At a recent party, Paula arrived beforehand with her sleeves rolled up and proceeded to put up a gazabo. Thats the type of woman she is, she got stuck into everything she did and gave it 100%. She never saw problems, only solutions. She genuinely cares about people, their wellbeing, their problems. She gave it her best shot at the Council Elections and she would have been an amazing asset on the Council had she got elected. It is an extremely alarming omen for this County and Country if someone this talented, educated and enthusiastic, has been forced to leave our shores. Clare and Irelands loss with be Britains gain, again. May the Road Rise to Meet you Paula. You are in our hearts.
