Its hard to put into words the feeling in my heart from yesterday. Our second annual #teamlillybumpus Chla Christmas party was the biggest we have ever had and I am forever greatful. The room was packed with laughter, smiles and excitement for the feeling of Christmas. Every person in that room felt love and happiness, without cancer stealing it. Each child got a Christmas tree with ornament set and tree skirt,painted ornaments, made a ribbon wreath for their doors, a Christmas stocking, a bed set, and a basket filled with enough toys where no parent will need to worry how or if they can leave their side to go and purchase their own for Christmas. Each parent also received a Christmas within the glass basket to give them a piece of home. With a blanket, pillow case, socks, and all 4 sponsor a chla cancer momma items. We had so much stuff that every child that will be admitted before or on Christmas will also get a basket of toys, a bed set, stocking and Christmas tree set up. We received over 300 packages in a little over a month, as far as Brazil to make this happen. We were also able to spoil every nurse on the unit with food and cake/cupcakes , decorate the nurse stations and each nurse got a special #teamlillybumpus Christmas tree ornament (sponsor item) I can never tell you all thank you enough. You have brought Christmas to some who may never have another Christmas, or to the sweet 9 month old girl we met yesterday who was diagnosed 3 days ago and will be starting her first round of chemo for Christmas, or the 8 year old boy we met that has been inpatient since our Easter party. These children are warm in a bed covered in Christmas bedding, gleaming at their Christmas trees knowing they are loved and for that I love you all. No child should miss Christmas because they have cancer. And because of #teamlillybumpus every child fighting cancer at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles wont.
