Its harder for women to lose bodyfat than it is for men. But...Women are still training incorrectly for fat loss: 85% of women who go to the gym want to lose weight and tone-up (which really means they want to lose enough body fat until their muscles start to show some shape). Why are so many women still training like BODYBUILDERS! Focusing on one body part at a time (ex. chest day, arm day)... and taking long breaks between each set. This type of training does not burn enough calories to promote fat loss! Women need to use their entire bodies each workout! Doing 27 sets of bicep curls and tricep extensions is not going to burn many calories... period! Exercise like the one demonstrated in the video (Barbell High Pull) involves the upper and lower body. Plus momentum is used to pull the bar upward (momentum requires energy which means it burns calories). This combination of upper and lower body involvement creates a cardiovascular effect PLUS a resistance workout all wrapped into one exercise. This is the type of workout women need to lose body fat. There are hundreds of different barbell, dumbbell and bodyweight combinations. In the upcoming days I will show some more examples.
