Its hilarious listening to talking heads talking about the Heisman race. First of all I will concede that Manziel will almost certainly not win the award because he is going to play for a four loss team, but I just cant see an argument for anyone else under really any definition of what the award means: Most Valuable Player? Without Manziel A&M loses to Ole Miss, Arkansas and drops the Bama game by 40. He knows he takes the field that he must score 40 to have any chance to win. For no player is the margin of error smaller. In the Ags two losses this year they have at least 41 pts and 600 yards of offense. His defense cant get a single stop. Thats not his issue. In light of this burden he still puts up... Ridiculous numbers: his numbers match up with anyone in America. Alabama has allowed under nine points per v game. Manziel dropped FORTY TWO on them. He emasculated that defense to the extent that people wondered if Bama was actually any good. The scope of this discussion needs to change. Forget the Heisman race, as thats a celebration of a single years accomplishments. Manziel deserves it again because hes been better this year than last. If the Ags had last years defense they walk to the National title. He wont win it, I get that. Manziel deserves recognition as one of the greats of all time. If the A&M defense gets a stop after Manziel came in with an injury to lead a perfect scoring drive his performance yesterday goes into the annals of history as one of the greatest of all time. Enjoy this, Ags. We will NEVER see it again.
