Its incredibly difficult to articulate what we experienced this weekend. I knew what we were doing was going to be amazing and ground-breaking, but it didnt come close to what we actually encountered at WGI. From the standing ovation of thousands before we even hit a drum to the thunderous applause throughout the set to turning around at the end and actually seeing everyone on their feet clapping and cheering and crying... It was a rush I wont soon forget. Being bombarded all weekend with people who had followed our journey and were elated to finally see us perform, being asked for autographs and people wanting to buy DVDs, people sharing stories of how our journey and performance touched their lives, and the endless accolades everywhere we went was overwhelming. What these phenomenal young men and women did in front of people from all over the country and even from Japan was ground-breaking. I was beyond honored and humbled to be a part of leading them to this point and to be able to be one of the people accepting a trophy on their behalf for making history in front of 10,000 people. I could not be more proud of everyone involved: my fellow hard-working, dedicated Drumline staff, the wonderful staff who accompanied us on this trip and tirelessly helped us make this such a big success over the weekend, and especially the inspirational men and women who got to perform and show the country just what they truly are capable of when given the opportunity. Its with a heavy heart that this was the last performance for the Drumline in which I will have had a hand in helping to create, but I couldnt have asked to go out on a higher note and hope that I will be able to join them on their future endeavors when possible. My life was truly changed for the better being a member of this little family and I can never thank Brian Calhoun enough for having for the inkling to form this Drumline-that-could and for asking me to join forces with him. I will carry the memory of everything with me always
