Its just been one of those weeks where I just feel the need to put my thoughts into words. I dont like to watch television, but the news is often too good, or bad, if you wil, not to comment on. Lets take the MO shooting for example; after that took place, a large number within the community felt it acceptable to riot and loot, thereby damaging thier OWN community. Yesterday, a woman and child were shot and the child died as a result of the shooting. Our community members have taken the high road and chose to work with the police to find the individual responsible for the drive-by killing of an infant. And yes, I must point out that there were no police involved in this situation, however, when the members of the downtown community choose to be a part of the solution, rather than the problem, I must say I am proud and pleased at their decision. Who can say what will happen to the individual after he/she is located is anyones guess, but there is a team mentality within our city, and I hope we can lead by example to others who are faced with similar circumstances.
