Its long been wondered if you can perform magic for those who cant see. Isnt most of it just a matter of tricking the eyes? One OHM Hospital Magician just proved that a young girls inability to see did little to stop her from enjoying bedside magic! I had my first ever patient who couldnt see at the time. I put 3 sponge balls in her hand and asked her count them back to me - one, two, three. I put them back in her hand and told her to close it tight. She waved her magic wand, yelped her magic word, and slowly opened her hand. She began to count again - one, two, three... four, five, six! Her face absolutely exploded with joy. The magic happened right there in her hand, and she knew it! It was an extraordinary night watching this girl go from unsure to supremely confident as I taught her one of our toughest tricks. I walked her through the steps by hand, and in no time she was performing it better than some of our magicians. I guess that old seeing is believing line is a bunch of hocus pocus!
