Its long but its on my heart.... He was relational with me when I was an enemy and hated Him... He extended His hand while I extended nothing but hatred... Kindness lead me to repentance. I was as dead as Lazarus when He told me to come forth and grab His hand... A miracle took place for this dead guy to answer that calling... In short the God sovereignly saved me... He made salvation possible and then attained it for me.... How though?! Incarnation!!! The second person of the Trinity assumed human form in the person of Jesus Christ and is completely both God and man. Why though?! I mean could he of done it from the comforts of heaven? Did he have to get his hands dirty? Let alone nailed to a cross!? Well as lofty doctrines known as substitutionary atonement and penal substitution answer the above questions. Do they sum up the full depth of the incarnation we see in Jesus?!? Could he not have just came instantly as a sinless man at 30?! Could have just died and risen apart from all the other work (miracles and sermons)... Skipped the relationships formed... Never chosen to deal with the disciples...the lowly sinners? Just allow the Holy Spirit to bring about salvation for the elect in a similar manner it was done for for Saul to become Paul?! Or maybe some degree like John the Baptist.. Seemingly grasping who Jesus was within the womb.... Though I dont have a coined theological term to neatly package why Gods salvation is other than the crazy questions beg above... I personally think about God walking with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day... I think about the Triune God Himself, the very personification of relationship shown forth in 3 Persons who are One God... A God who delights in relationship.... However the relationship He chose to make and how He chose to make it is far more scandalous than any of us understand. He the perfect God did life with a bunch of sinful men and turned the world upside with them.
