Its lunch break! Hubby had a road call so the boys and I have been working outside. Well be heading outside soon to do a bit more clearing of what we can in the garden area. We need to rent that rototiller soon. I believe Ive got a source for some manure, but boy my gardening efforts may be severely reduced if I have to do lots of soil amending, which with the clay like soil around here I think thats a must. :( I spent some time chuckling at the antics of my chickens this morning. Stan is such a doting rooster. He makes sure all the ladies are well cared for and never misses where any of them are at within the chicken yard. This is a tough task for Stan as that big poof on his polish head makes it challenging to see much of anything! This morning one of the white cochin hens was cackling up a storm because she was in the nesting box laying. Stan started calling out in concern and continued to do so until he located which of his ladies was in distress and went inside to check on her. He is something else. Course the cochins are simply noisy layers, but Stan checks on them none the less! Hope you are enjoying a beautiful day! ~ Nancie
