Its my not-so-humble goal to make my own game show up. Since the best ones are from the 70s, Id start there and Id call it, Showin the Love. Knowing that every other sentence in a 70s game show was a double entendre, you can already tell this show will have plenty of OOOsss and AAAHHHsss. (Insert Don Pardo-style voice over here.) (Cue beginning of game show theme song here.) Until that show becomes reality, Ill start using the catch phrase as I recap West Coast Wednesdays (WCW) and start--wait for it--showin the love. - Im showin the love to Sammy and Heather who had a stupendous WCW teaching debut. Great attendance; great enthusiasm; great job. I dont think its presumptuous if I say that the West Coast Swing community is looking forward to having them back at WCW in the near future. - Im showin the love to Aprils music. She combines newer and olders songs, songs youre never heard, and puts out a cornucopia of music that keeps you moving all evening. - Im showin the love to Mordecai and Josephita. It so much nostalgia as it was just a big ole warm feeling of happiness to see two former Chicago residents back in town. You both brought lots of smiles to faces last night. Is there any chance we can convince you both to move back to Chicago? :) - Im showin the love to Rosa for coordinating a great group shot with Carmen, Mordecai, Maren, Julie, Tara, Diann, Gina, Sammy, Heather, and a few others. Its always nice to capture a moment in time with a large group of like-minded dance nuts. - Im showin the love to Brian, Rodney, and Rob (Aprils brother) for helping get the evening setup, taken down, and all of that behind-the-scenes stuff. - And Im hugely showin the love (watch it kids, no gutter minds with that comment) to all of the dancers who made last night fun at minimal and heart-warming at best, including: Jeff, Rose, Ed, Tony, Lynzi, Tanya, Maren, Laura, Vernon, Nancy, Michael, Jean, Kimberly, Dee, Scott, Tim, Jen, Diane, Vita, Christina, Layton, Wayne, Cynthia, Anna Maria, Mary Sue, Dennis, Justin, Kathleen, Richard, Raymond, Judi, Glen, Karen, Steve, Kathy, Carrie, Victoria, Nadia, Jason, Sarahmaria, Christine, Natalie, Barbara, Mark, Belle, Benny, Shimpei, Rob, and the remaining cast of zany people that I call family. Phew! Thats a lot of love. (Cue ending of game show theme song here.) As I sign off, I thank you all with a B.A.H. (Big Ass Hug). You brought yourselves--always key to a great dance evening. And for that, I am grateful...and--wait for it--showin the love. :) Take care everyone. Ill hopefully see you this Saturday at “Hustlng Attorney” at The Mix as Part of Local Hustle Dance Tour or next Wednesday when Rebecca Ludwick teaches, and well find new ways to be silly, fun, and constantly smiling--and oh yeah, dancing. :)
