Its nearly 1:00 a.m. in Barcelona. Linda and I had a wonderful day-time road trip up along the coast, across the French border. It took us about seven hours on small winding roads through magnificent northeast Spanish coastal countryside and inviting small beach and cliff-side towns to get to France. Then night fell, and our trust in the rental cars GPS, plus our exhaustion, led to some bad assumptions that took us a good way further into France than wed intended before we realized that HOME to our navigator wasnt the Hertz agency at the Barcelona train station ... it was the Toulouse Airport! With Linda as navigator and me as driver, we always find harrowing and heart-racing moments in our travels, often accompanied with some churning emotions about how WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER, DAMN IT!!! But, ultimately, upon return and over a gratifying late-night dinner with a good bottle of wine, we find ourselves in hilarious tears over our many mishaps, and returning to our long-held opinion that were really great traveling pals. Thanks for navigating us back home to Barcelona, Linda (from that wretched France). Good night, sweetie. See you in the morning.
