Its not Thursday, but the events of the last few days deserved a mention so here we go...... Today was our third morning at Happily Ever Esther and we wanted to take a minute to say thank you. Were both very overwhelmed and its probably a good thing because it prevents us from understanding the massive scale of what just went down. What we do know is this; in two months you guys helped make crowd funding history when we raised over $440,000 in just 60 days, allowing us to purchase the farm and bring our vision of Happily Ever Esther to life. You have changed our lives forever and in turn, the lives of countless animals that will soon begin to arrive and find peace, love, and security in our fields. You have allowed two guys who fell madly in love with a pig to share our story with the world, and embraced it with open arms. Its the most unbelievable experience weve ever had and incredibly, weve only just begun. The dust is starting to settle as we return our moving van today and the last of our stuff sits boxed in the garage. This is really happening, its not the dream it felt like just two weeks ago when we were sitting in Georgetown counting the days. Even this morning I feel like at some point somebody is going to wake me up and Ill find out it was all in my head, a fantastic dream thats just too good to be true. People talk to us like weve done something special, but what nobody ever seems to mention is the fact that were nothing without you. The power of the Esther effect is the result of our amazing followers and we couldnt do any of this without your support. We have found ourselves asking on numerous occasions, How can people we dont even really know do all these amazing things for us?. You believed in us, you supported us, and you made us feel like we had the power of a million armies behind us. We may be Esthers parents and were the ones living on the farm, but it is by no means ours. This property and everything it represents belong to each and every one of you. We wouldnt be here if it wasnt for you, and we will never be able to thank you enough. Over the next few days and weeks we will begin planning work days and property visits to start bringing our vision to life. If you have any special skills or if you just want to come out and get dirty please let us know. There is a sign up sheet on our website now so come have a look. Theres no shortage of work to be done, and we can use all the help we can get. Its going to be tough but we will work harder than weve ever worked before, and we promise we wont let you down. You got us here, now its our turn to make you proud and show you what we can do. Hold on tight everyone, this little piggy is going to change the world and its going to be an incredible ride. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Xoxoxo Steve and Derek.
