Its now dawned on me what Game of Thrones is intended to achieve. It is all about historical confusion and dilution. Yes, we all know that its fiction and fantasy, but apart from the very subtle geographical references of the first season, there are now genuine historical references suddenly appearing. Symbolism being thrust into your mind amid a confusing array of pseudo-historical scenarios. Is it just entertainment? Or is it intentional mind-numbing of the masses? A deliberate ploy to fill heads with imagery and terminology that can preclude an attempt at learning true history?
