Its now getting serious! The Zambian Kwacha is trading at K6000 against the dollar. Is the Kwacha still on random walk or it is now depreciating? We all know the currencies world over fluctuate atleast within an acceptable margin of 10% but this is not fluctuating because it is not appreciating but continues to depreciate. Very soon inflation will go up because imported goods such as fuel will soon be adjusted upwards and if fuel goes up which drives the whole economy other goods will follow suit and this will have a negative bearing on civil servants whose salaries will only be adjusted in 2016! Brace yowa selves with the after effects of a depreciated currency
