Its now pretty evident that by continuing to ignore and refute the fact that the world is warming, America’s GOP party and many reality holdouts in the Tea Party are key obstructions to the U.S. government actually making significant strides to combat climate change, even in the face of hurricanes Katrina/Sandy, record heat waves, droughts (California), typhoons and tornados. [From the article]: Republican leaders in the Congress have pledged to lead legislative efforts meant to keep the EPA from cutting carbon pollution. One of the few conclusions able to be drawn from that is that Republican leaders would prefer polluted skies and air over America. Ditto for GOP efforts to push back against EPA regulations that help ensure chemicals and hazardous toxins, poisons and metals are kept out of waterways. It seems the GOP is more than willing to sacrifice Americans health and wellbeing (this and future generations) – and potentially put the future of the entire planet at risk – for the sake of a buck and to provide favors to conservative donors.
